Got tired of having to mix your natural peanut butter again? We tried out four methods to find the most effective
natural peanut butter
It requires very little effort, and no mess will be left behind!
Natural peanut butter may be many things, such as devoid of hydrogenated oils and sugar, correctly peanut-y, and sweet; nevertheless, it is not going to win any medals for being easy to use
Natural peanut butter, which consists of nothing but peanuts and salt, requires vigorous stirring upon opening due to the absence of stabilizer oils that help keep it homogenized
Although this task appears straightforward at first glance, it can be tricky to ensure that all of the components are spread uniformly throughout the meal
A drop or two of oil frequently finds its way onto the kitchen counter
Is there an alternative to stirring natural peanut butter by hand, such as a food processor or blender? After completing it in four different techniques, I stumbled across what I feel to be the most successful strategy
How to Make Peanut Butter with Only Totally Natural Stuff
Some examples of how to blend natural peanut butter are provided below
The Spoon Way is the most typical way, in which you take a spoon or a knife and mix (and stir and stir) the oil and solids together until the peanut butter is once again homogenous
You may do this as many times as necessary to have a perfectly smooth peanut butter
The Hand-Crank Method: This technique uses a machine designed to effortlessly blend all-natural peanut butter
In most cases, you should be able to get one of them in a store that sells equipment for the kitchen
However, is there any truth to the claim that it actually works?
By employing an immersion blender, you need not remove the natural peanut butter from its container to properly blend it
That is the goal, at least
Using a spoon, remove some natural peanut butter from the jar and throw it in a blender or food processor
Combine and process until uniform
It must be feasible to combine the two, but is it worth the trouble?
The upside-down approach is keeping a jar of natural peanut butter upside-down for one to three days, then shaking the jar vigorously for 20 seconds before to opening

It has been found that turning the jar upside down causes the oil to rise to the top of the peanut butter, so re-blending the two
Whether or not I planned to employ a certain technique again, the degree of difficulty I encountered, and the degree of chaos it generated all factored into my final grade
In order to determine the ranking, we considered three factors: how well the approach combined the peanut butter; how much of a bother it was; and how much of a mess it made
Each tactic was ranked from worst to best on a scale from 0 to 10
The Spoon Approach
Discomfort/Disarray: You’d think I’d have mastered the art of swirling natural peanut butter in this manner after doing it for so many years
You’d think I’d be some kind of oil-tight genius
A tiny bit of oil blasted out and poured down the sides of the jar even though the peanut butter was swirled very gently
Obviously, there was peanut butter all over the spoon’s handle
The method is effective for mixing most of the time, although it may be difficult to include the solid pieces at the jar’s bottom
In order to get everything out and up, you have to dig deep into the jar’s nooks and crannies, and as a result, some oil will glug out as you scoop
The device lives up to its name, which promises to be clean
Since you’ll be performing all of your stirrings within the sealed jar, you won’t have to worry about oil splattering, and you won’t have to waste time cleaning peanut butter off of cutlery either
You won’t have to worry about any peanut butter residue after removing the mixing rod because it cleans itself automatically
Specifically, Grandpa Witmer didn’t impress me with how well he mixed things
As tedious as it was to spin the hand crank, I was disappointed to find that my efforts had not resulted in completely homogenous peanut butter

In spite of this, there were still sizable peanut butter chunks in the jar’s bottom, and the spread remained chunky overall
There were still peanut butter pieces at the bottom of the jar, but the oil had settled to the surface
How an Immersion Blender is Used
Problems and Disarray: Holy cow, that’s a lot
Because I had to transfer the peanut butter to a new bowl, I ended up having to wash not only the new bowl, but also the spatula, the outside of the peanut butter jar (because transferring the peanut butter back into the jar was a messy business), and the immersion blender blade, which required a good, thorough soaking in the sink’s sprayer
An enormous amount of extra work has to be done on the cleaning front
Effectiveness: The use of the immersion blender was a hassle, but it worked out in the end
The peanut butter turned out well blended after about a minute and a half in the food processor
Should I think about using this strategy again? Undoubtedly not
Irrational if the messiness of mixing peanut butter is the only reason you’re avoiding it
For sure, a peanut butter immersion blender will do the trick (and course, the results would be even better if you could mix the peanut butter right in the jar itself)
Scooping the peanut butter out and putting it back in the container is a messier operation than just swirling the mixture around in the container
The Blender/Food-Processor Approach
Just as when I was using the immersion blender, I was thinking about the choices I had made in my life as I spooned peanut butter into the food processor
After I was done, I realized I’d have to scrape the bowl clean so I could put all of the peanut butter back in the original container
The benefits of doing this are none
On the other hand, cleaning the peanut butter off the food processor blade was a lot less of a pain than cleaning the immersion blender
natural peanut butter calories
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the food processor was the most efficient method of blending my natural peanut butter into a uniform consistency when compared to the other methods I tried
I refrained from immediately calling off the tests and instead spread some of that delicacy on some toast because it was so uniformly dispersed
Should I think about using this strategy again? It might work if I combined the contents of at least three peanut butter jars at once and transferred them to a bigger container
Even though this method eliminates the need to use a spoon, it still requires half a dozen more procedures before you can use the combination, and while the end result is great, I doubt it would be worth my time to make just one jar’s worth
The Process of Inverting Conventions
Effort/Chaos: Nil! This procedure is hassle-free and produces no waste after the jar has been opened
The only thing you need to remember is to flip the jar upside down before storing it away in the pantry, and everything else is easy
Let me be frank about mixing efficiency: Even though I’d read about this strategy all over the internet, I was still fully expecting it to be useless
Next, I opened the peanut butter container and was shocked to see that yup! this technique had worked
The oil had mixed back in, and the peanut butter was again a consistent, even texture
I could have made something just as delicious, if not better, by stirring it by hand instead of running it through the food processor
Should I think about using this strategy again? certainly; it is critical to bear in mind that the deciding shaking comes in the end
In a big way, that adds to the mayhem
It turns out that the opposite strategy really works better
This method of blending natural peanut butter takes the cake as the quickest, cleanest, and easiest option
If you buy a jar of natural peanut butter and want to open it immediately, you won’t be able to store it upside down and shake it until it’s smooth; but, if you plan to keep a few jars in the pantry, you can do just that
Natural peanut butter that is expertly blended is yours to enjoy!
